The Service Line RN PRN for Baylor Scott and White Health coordinates patient
care delivered by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the Service
Line RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses
to health problems, develops/implements the plan of care and evaluates the
patients response. During this process, the Service Line RN communicates
patient data to the health care team, makes recommendations for patient
interventions, collaborates with other health care providers to deliver care
and documents outcomes. The RN is responsible for creating a plan of care that
is sensitive to diversity, age appropriate, individualized to the needs of
each patient and promotes safe passage. The Service Line RN promote safe
passage for their patients by using knowledge of patient needs and the
healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare
encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The Service Line RN
delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing
Practice Act, each patients condition and the competencies of the employee.
The Service Line RN uses clinical judgment, clinical inquiry, advocacy, caring
practices, collaboration and systems thinking in the provision of nursing
care. The Service Line RN for BSWH facilitates the learning for
patients/families, staff and community through effective teaching.

* Clinical Judgment: Using clinical reasoning, conducts accurate clinical assessments according to practice standards. Identifies and prioritizes patient/family needs. Develops, implements and evaluates the nursing plan of care. Modifies plan to meet clinical outcomes. * Shift/Schedule – PRN Days. 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Min of 4 shifts per month with one 24 hr. weekend On-Call shift per month

Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required
