As a Patient Care Assist with the largest private employer in the Central
Valley, you will actively feel and see how your role is key to improving the
quality of life for those we serve. Responsibilities:
Under the direction of a licensed clinical staff member, provides patient care
using defined procedures and standards in accordance with the goals of the
unit and the philosophy of Community Medical Centers. Performs and assists
with elemental aspects of patient care such as nutrition, bed scale weights,
I/O, etc. in coordination with the patient care team. Assists licensed
clinical staff as needed with direct patient care. Qualifications:
Education

* High School Diploma/GED required
* Successful completion of one of the following: Obtain a diploma / certificate from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, Obtain a diploma / certificate from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program or Nursing Fundamental courses from an accredited clinical RN or LVN program (typically done in the 1st semester) required
* Incumbents hired into position prior to 10/01/2018 are grandfathered with their existing education

Experience

* 1 year of experience as a nursing assistant in an acute care hospital preferred

Licenses and Certifications

* BLS – Current Healthcare Provider BLS Certification by the American Heart Association (AHA) required
* Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – If qualifying as a CNA must possess an active or inactive CNA certification issued by the California Department of Public Health (Not required for RN or LVN students / graduates)
* Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – If qualifying as an EMT, must possess an active or inactive EMT certification issued by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Not required for RN or LVN students / graduates)
