What is a good age to retire? I have traveled almost 30 years, but bought a machine shop and built race car engines on my days off even racing cars for years. Should I pack it in? I know the firing order of Chevrolet as I do CVA protocol.

Always depends on your birth year and financials. When can you actually retire and use social security benefits? Can you live a life you are comfortable with on your social security/investsments? Only you know that answer. There is social security money left on the table if you retire early and decide to use that money. If you can use investment money for a couple of years and wait until you re 66-68, there would be more social security money coming to you each month. If you can continue to bridge the gap until you are 70, you would get the maximum amount of social security income. Obviously, no guarantees with any option. Personally, I retired at age 66 and we take a small amount each month from investments to allow us to live comfortably. Remember if you have a partner and depend on both retirement incomes for bills, if one person dies, their money disappears. It is imperative that you live within your retirement budget.
