Hi, Help I have ER experience over 6 years and 2018, and reentered the ER in 2020. Then experienced the death of multiple family members, and had to take some time off between positions for another death in 2021. How to I get back to ER?

With your experience and the current shortage of ER nurses around the country, I would think that you would be able to locate a job with little or no trouble.

Send your resumes to the local hospitals with a cover letter explaining why you had to leave the ER and ask them about any positions that may be opened or soon to open. I am sure they would be happy to hire you.

Just apply. You should have no trouble finding an ER position. It sounds like you may have cared for ill family members during this time who would later pass away and this is why you left the ER. I would let whoever interviews you, know that as this will not go against you. If you have kept up your knowledge in the ER such as doing continuing education, then that should help too. I would be sure to let the interviewer know that you would be flexible with shifts such as working nights, weekends, and/or holidays. You can always work in urgent care too. Good Luck.
