I have 8 years experience in patient care nursing, but want to transition out of bedside nursing. I am interested in RN Coder or Nurse Auditor, but don't know how to go about getting into these jobs. Any advice is very welcome and appreciated

I would do get a certification in medical coding. Since RN Coders are in demand having that certification would make transition much easier and you would be more marketable. I just Googled RN medical coder certification and you can check out what options suits you.

If you are in Illinois and you are looking for an Auditor/surveyor position search for Illinois state/fed nursing jobs, there was one on indeed just this week. RN coder can also be searched on indeed, just make sure you are wanting to learn to be very competent in coding it is not easy learning.
