How much of a wage should a BSN new grad in NY with previous hospital experience ask for?

it dependes on where you work and the specialty. NYCHHC will pay for most full time staff positions 85k or more per year as a mew grad. However, other hospitals like NYU, Mount Sinai,NYP, Montefiore can start with 95k as a new grad so should be expecting more than that as long as you have experience on the same specialty you are applying for. If you are switching specialty they still have to give plenty of training so you may get pay a salary similar as a new grad. Good luck

It really depends on the location in the state and the healthcare facility as well as your specialty and level of experience. The level of demand also varies. It is important to ask prospective employers not just for the base salary but also the benefits that will constitute your overall compensation package. One facility may pay more in base salary but has less benefits in terms of not just medical/dental coverage but also tuition, 401k, etc. Ask for the available perks that can also contribute to your savings such as Child Daycare facilities that will enable you to save and therefore impact your finances.
