Anyone else having travel contracts not honored by companies decreasing pay in the middle of a contract? Mine was decreased by $2/hr initially & now 6 weeks into contract they are decreasing it another $4/hr. ๐Ÿ˜ก

You need to abort that contract quickly, its a breach. Do not stand for it!

I have done quite a few travel contracts with different companies and they have never reduced wages. I did run into issues when I missed work due to illness. They will deduct in some way. I just picked up extra hours when I was feeling better. You are contracted for a particular wage, hours worked, and housing. If you don't fulfill the hours then the company isn't making the money to pay for the wage and the housing. I think they told me it's $8/hr charge for housing for hours missed. Thats the only thing I can think of why they would deduct from you. If it is not missed hours then the company you work is not honoring the contract and hopefully is reported. You should blog the information so other travelers are aware of this company. There are so many companies now, you have lots to chose from.

Wow....that is positively depressing (and may I say rude?). It has never happened to me, but considering how much things have changed over the past 2+ years due to COVID, etc I guess that companies are doing whatever they can to cut costs and increase their client base. Be sure to carefully read your contracts before signing....and perhaps speaking to an attorney would be a good idea just to see what options you might have if you want to get out of a contract when there is a cut like you described. Good luck to you!!
