Why are some Charge Nurses feel sooo entitled making their own "memo" for the staff yet they don't follow it themselves ๐คช๐
there needs to be more daisy awards lol
First... someone let's them get away with it. Their boss likely does not care as someone else is on a power trip. Take your concerns up the chain of command.
Charge nurses make staff assignments and on some occasions, they make bad decisions . . . a nursing shift can drift into any direction . . . there is no control in the idea of how a free flowing shift can go . . . often, there is no 'free flowing nursing care unit . . . My suggestion is this idea . . . when encountering problems or discrepancy in assignment to patients and families, openly communicate your concern . . . in years of practice, I have spoken up because an assignment made by a charge nurse may not be a safe one . . . it's important to evaluate number of staff and the number of critically ill patients in order to provide the best care possible . . . and many times, it means learning to work together in order to orchestrate nursing care that you can all be proud of, always . . .
