I have been in Home Care and case management for the past 16 years . I applied for the NP program. I really need to refresh my skills in the hospital settings- where can I start?

Often Community Colleges will offer refreshment course for nurses. Your local State Nurses Association and the State Board of Nursing in your area are also great resources to use to find courses.

Check with state nursing board for "Nurse Refresher" classes. Case Management experience is quite valuable in a number of settings! Care Transitions are where so many lapses of communication=bad outcomes occur. I think there will be a resurgence of LTACH admissions- look into the main players in the LTACH business for Case Management opportunities.

It isn't all about bedside versus Nurse Practitioner.

If you live in new york i suggest you try with city hospitals, salary is not as great as private. Give yourself at least two years in med-surg you will be able to do it all.

Hospitals are always hiring! You could apply as a PRN float. Also, you can refresh your skills in your NP clinicals.
