I have had issues standing for a long period of time thanks to a surgery on my big toe in high school. Are there nursing specialties that don't require so much standing the whole shift?

Pediatric homehealth

Quality Assurance nursing, and home care. Hospice nursing especially home hospice. If you have a BSN or higher, management might be something to look into, but be aware you will be making rounds a lot and going to meetings. Telephone nursing for insurance companies will allow you to sit.

Telephone advice nurse

Psych. As a floor nurse, my techs did majority of safety rounds. I did meds, room checks, talking to patients but a lot of time, patients come to the nurse.
