I only have around 5 months experience in step down unit. I will move to GA soon, is there any chance I can get a job with only those few months?
Yes you will find work
Check Northside or NGHS, they will hire you as a nurse Resident. This is a very good program. One advise, work on getting your license endorsed even before you move.
You can always get a job as long as you have experience and willing to work hard whatever is available. Young nurses are always needed in the market. Just be proactive.
5 months experience is better than no experience at all. When you do your resume put all your qualifications down and see if you can get a letter of recommendation from your previous boss. You are moving to another area you are not just quitting on them. When you do your interview just sell yourself and tell them about your qualities and the reason you became a nurse. There is a shortage they will be crazy not to hire a person with your experience even if it’s 5 months.
Absolutely! Hospitals hire all day and they will put you with a preceptor.
Definitely! Just be honest about your experience and they will give you training. You can start with Nursing Homes ( Long Term Care Nursing) or Home Health. You will be assigned a nurse trainer who will train you until you are comfortable. Another job you want to look into is Public Health Nursing, they take graduate nurses. Public Health Nursing is working for the Department of State Health Service of your State.
