In this course, you will learn about domestic violence, something that more than 10 million adults have been subjected to during the course of a year. Due to the increasing prevalence of domestic violence in society, there is a high probability that all healthcare professionals will evaluate and treat a victim of domestic violence at some time during their healthcare career, so it is important for all nurses to be aware of it. By the end of this course, you will be able to identify different types of domestic violence, as well as indicators of abuse in a patient. You will also explore both the incidence and prevalence of domestic violence on a national level.
