Anyone know how to become a CDS Clinical Documentation Specialist? I have BSN but working in Pharmacoviglinace for past 20 years. To become CDS, do I need a certificate?

The best way to enter the profession is to have inpatient experience, either medical surgical nursing or critical care experience. You cannot become certified, earn a CCDS, unless you have two years of experience. Also, it’s best to find a hospital that is hiring/ training new CDS.
