Any tips on how to transition from pediatrics to labor and delivery? I’ve been applying for years now and no one will hire me without experience.
I started in medsurg/acute care nursing. I am currently working in postpartum and we work closely with the labor and delivery staff, we are often asked to float to L&D to help with postpartum moms, I feel that this is a good way to get hired into L&D. Medsurg experience can help open the door for many different units
I was a med surg nurse after I graduated. It was the best experience to transition to L&D, I knew all the diseases and complications for the med surg potion and applied it to the high risk obstetrical patients. I knew all of the drugs used vents and dialysis. I had a very broad background.
