In nursing school and find myself getting squeamish when seeing bloody situations. What advice do you have to get past this?

Hang in there. You can get past this. (I did! Almost fainted my first day of clinicals). Depending what gets you..envision blood as red kool aid if that’s relevant. Be sure to be hydrated and have breakfast; at feeling lightheaded can be worse when you’re empty. Be strategic- if you get lightheaded when you see a bedside procedure for example you can place a chair nearby to lean on if you need it. Go wash your face/get a cup of ice. And most of all, it happens to many nurses in the beginning. But 99% you can get past it and overcome this. I heard the same from other nurses.

Think about it after you have handled it. Nursing is gross, but very rewarding

To be squeamish is normal, that will give you more incentive to stop the bleeding.
