What job options for a BSN Without an RN License? (not a new graduate)

September 12th, 2023

In short, none. In order to practice you have to have a license. Even writing articles, or doing health advisories without a license leaves you with a huge credibility gap. In most places it is against the law or can be interpreted as "impersonating a nurse" for lack of an actual nursing license - also illegal. My advice - having taught nursing and actively practiced for 45 years - is to take a nurse refresher course, often given at local colleges and even on line, and take your Boards. If you have lost your license and wish to get it back, contact your state Board of Nursing or Office of Professions and ask how to go about that. Otherwise, you might as well have a Bachelors in any general subject for all the good your BSN will do you.

As long as you don't want to be a nurse, there are plenty. Why did you not want to get licensed?
