In my experience I have received a reminder from my nursing board that it was time to renew my license. However, I
wouldn't depend on that because it is your responsibility to renew it on time. It my very in some states, but you can
usually renew your license a little early.
In most states you have to have at least 20 CEUs and you can renew it online. Go to your Board of Nurses website and
there should be information on how to renew it online.
I received a reminder in the mail. Then you fill out the info online and submit payment. From there you can request reminders and mail be sent email. You have to get your reminder before you can renew. I suppose if you wanted to pay earlier due to special circumstances you could call or go to your
Board of Nursing offices.
I received an email from the state telling me it was time to renew (PA).
Yes. You will receive a renewal letter/form with all needed instructions, roughly 30-45 days before the due date of your current license. and You cannot renew until you receive the renewal letter. I am not sure if some states send email. My states (NY & NJ) sends regular mail.
