Currently a new grad struggling to get a job in Florida any tips

July 4th, 2024

Look for a hospital system that offers a nurse residency program. That’s a good way to get your foot in the door. Most will require you to sign a contract for 2 years for the training. But the good part is you will get paid while you train. Lee Health in Fort Myers and Sarasota Memorial both have nurse residency programs. Check out some of the hospitals in bigger cities like Orlando and Tampa. Some of the bigger home health companies like Aveanna have programs for new grads. Remember, Florida can be very seasonal and the summer months typically are slower with lower patient census in the hospitals. Post your resume on Indeed. They even have resume and interview coaching. Good luck with your job hunt and don’t give up.
