Hi, I am a new grad and I tried ICU but they told me I wasn't the right fit unfortunately. I am still trying to figure out what I want to do as a new grad nurse now, what is a good department to start? I am also considering L&D.

Med-surg is a good place to start. It is the basis for many other areas of nursing. You get a variety of patients requiring different degrees of care. You can sharpen your time management skills and be involved in various procedures. I think you would better prepared for the ICU once you have worked med-surg.
