Is it recommended to do BSN to DNP? Primary care nurse practitioner or acute care nurse practitioner?

September 14th, 2022

This depends on the State that you reside and will be working in and the area you would like to work (practice setting). Some States require the DNP VS FNP etc. Some states FNPs cannot work in acute care settings and if you want to be an AGCNP you cannot work in acute care settings that see all ages.

If you want to work with all ages and in primary care setting FNP (2 years) or DNP (3-4 years) depending on your personal goals and state requirements is the way to go.
