Not an nclex passer but a registered nurse from philippines, could i still apply for nursing informatics? I have an experience with informatics back in united arab emirates
Just take the NCLEX ,then if you can get an employer here, you can write in your application that nursing informatics is your experience, I’m not sure how the process go, but filipino nurses usually work in another unit, then they can a apply for transfer in their chosen unit. Informatics RN is also competitive amongst other nurses who loves working w/ computers, Or if you apply in the hospital you specifically look for that job opening, and be firm that you want to work as informatics RN, if you have a credible experience , employers can consider you.
Any position that states "RN" requires a current RN license. If the informatics job posting does not state "RN informatics" then only your experience would be counted.
As a foreign nurse you’re going to have to write the end clacks to be an RN in the US. You are also going to have to go through CGFNS for foreign nurses. A lot of times Filipinos are sponsored in the United States. Any hospital would be happy to have you but you still have to write the NCLEX and you still have to go through CGFNS as a foreign nurse. Hope this helps
Hi. Your experience in Informatics is valuable to an IT department. But, they could not hire you as a nurse. Please do whatever it takes to pass Nclex. Once you pass the exam, consider taking a certification exam in Nursing Informatics. Being certified will put you a step ahead of the game. Good luck. You can do this.
