As a nurse, do you still feel frightened when someone is rushed into the hospital with a horrible situation?

March 27th, 2023

I have been a nurse for over 12 years. I still get frightened. I think it is a normal fight or flight response to the situation at hand. I think you should ask yourself what do I do in these situations? If you run, the field you are in may not be for you. If you jump into the action and use your training to help the patient, then you are doing what should be done. Emotions are normal. People’s lives are on the line. Never apologize for your feelings. It is what you do with them that counts.
