Seeking advice for pediatric home health nursing. Thinking of getting into this field with a few years of pediatric inpatient experience on two busy step down units. Any company suggestions that are well-liked by nurses and families?

In my area and in my experience Bayada and Interim are the two agencies that I would recommend. I did private duty pediatric care and then transitioned to being a school nurse in a very medically involved school with 50+ private nurses in the building. I interact with many agency supervisors almost daily and while I'm sure it changes branch to branch Bayada and Interim are the two that I find have the most professionalism, best employee benefits and most accessible supervisors and office support staff. Hope this helps and best of luck transitioning.

THIS WAS MY LIFE FOR 30 YEARS AND I LOVED IT.
LOVED THE INDEPENDENCE AND THE CHALLANGE OF BEING THE "STAT PAGE".
MOST OF MY KIDS WERE NEUROLOGICALLY CHALLANGED AND HAD A MYRIAD OF NEEDS.
I HAVE LOVED ALL OF MY FAMLY MEMBERS AND CONSIDER THEM FRIENDS NOW.
MOST OF MY KIDS HAVE GONE ON TO A BETTER LIFE BUT THE ONES WHO SURVIVED HAVE REMAINED PART OF MY FAMILY!
DO IT!!
YOU WILL LOVE IT.

I worked with MGA for years. The family liked them and I did too! They always had my back and listened.

Can I suggest one to stay away from? I worked as a private duty nurse for an agency for a year, and here's what happened: 1) they would send me to LPN jobs & pay me that rate until I caught on 2) people wouldn't answer the door 3) the parents would go out, leaving me with not only the patient, but also thier siblings 4) parents would issue conflicting guidance and one would get mad if I followed the other 5) parents would go out & not return even an hour after my 12 hour shift ended 6) parents disregard your advice because you're "not really part of the medical team". There's actually more, but these were just part of why I won't do private duty anymore.
Indeed has employee reviews to look up if you want a basic view. I am in NYC.
