It is your responsibility to decipher the results to see if there is any of the results are out of range. If so, you must report such findings to the appropriate person. Rather that be a nurse practitioner, resp. therapist, or the doctor on call. They will then give you orders to fulfill, if needed, in order to correct the parameters that were out of range. So, it’s imperative to know normal parameters of an ABG.

If they’re out of range, show the respiratory therapist and notify the md for vent changes? What are you asking exactly?
