How to return to acute care nursing? I’ve been an RN for 5.5 years, 2 in medsurg, 2 in hospice, 1.5 doing ambulatory care contract work in primary care and public health. I don’t want to do medsurg, but unsure how to market myself for anything else.

Try MICU, you have medsurg experience that is a step up. I was speaking with a Rapid Reponse nurse about what to do after medsurge. He told me to try MICU. However, at my hospital many are leaving the bedside. Consider going back to school to level up too😊 it’s not the same out here anymore. Politics is the new nursing role.
