How do you handle occurrences of verbal and physical abuse by patients? I’ve experienced one patient who asked for my social media and even followed me after work.

Let work be work and let your private life be mixed with whatever you want appropriately. There are laws that certainly apply to that and policies in each work place that should already be in place. But once you are out of your work area, you are in full control of yourself and whatever you need to do to stop it and avoid it.

Establish professional boundaries immediately. Shut it down immediately. Let the charge nurse and security know immediately.
