How can I provide the best patient care in a community/public setting? How can I further assist my patients?

In most settings the public health nurse will work under the orders from a doctor, nurse practitioner or a physician assistant. In 2022, there are many problems being faced every day. Hunger, homelessness, COVID, just to name a few are not the responsibility of any one person to solve. A nurse who is well informed about the social and political climate in his/her geographical area becomes a valuable resource for anyone she/he administers to. No one should believe they can solve all the problems they may encounter while practicing in a public health setting.

I found it useful to take online CEU’s about acceptance and diversity, also learning about open- ended questions that encourage clients/ patients to trust and open up about their own specific concerns, needs, and troubles. Many of these courses and lectures are free or low- cost.

I am keen on knowing the answer to this question as well.
