Is it possible for me to get a non-bedside job as a New Grad? If so, where can I find those jobs? Thank you

It’s definitely possible. A nursing degree is not just for bedside. Get creative with it! If bedside isn’t something you want to do- don’t do it. It’s not worth the mental anguish. Life is too short! I know of new grads who started in outpatient surgery centers and they love it! Clinical research, case management, medical sales, aesthetics, dermatology offices, there’s so many options!

Don’t listen to people that tell you bedside is your only option, a BSN is an amazing degree bc you can literally do anything with it. Companies love BSN candidates if you don’t choose bedside.

The belief everyone needs to do bedside with a BSN needs to be squashed. Do whatever your heart desires. I recommend looking at wholelifenurse on Instagram. She talks a lot about this and all the other non-bedside options out there. Good luck!

You NEED to do bedside nursing if you wnat to build a resume and many positions require 2 years med surge. Not sure how you can go into nursing as a new grad and not do that. You learn all kinds of procedures, disease processes and treatments. I recommend you do not waste your nursing education by trying to bypass this very informatative part of your career.

Schools are always looking for nurses, new grads included. It is a good way to ease into the profession, no weekends or holidays.
