You have to know and understand your anatomy and physiology, diseases and disorders, so you can anticipate what will or could happen with your patient. Anticipating what will happen will help you to prioritize what to do first and what can wait. "Staying on top of your patients'" and performing the tasks with-in the lower priority category, as soon as you can, will help you deal with unexpected events when they happen without falling behind and feeling stress.
