Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you have downtime, look at someone else's monitor strip especially if looks abnormal and try to interpret it

Maternal Child CNS here. Intrapartum Management Modules Text. Through Professional Education Xenter. You can take a test after you vomplete the text for big ceus. Also, MCC CEU help for all areas. AORN OR training and anesthesia training. As well as AWHONN, APA NEONATAL RESCUSCITATION, STABLE PROGRAM. DONT EXPECT ALL OF YOUR TRAING TO BE OJT. ITS NOT.

Always listen to the patient. If they say "I have to push" or "its coming", then it is. Trust a reactive fetus. Accelerations mean its getting enough oxygen. Nothing else matters as much. Even decels do not mean as much. Follow the same algorithm every time. Read the policy and know it.

Just hang in there and learn from the experienced L & D nurses. You have to experience this work, it can really not be taught from a book. Although, you must review your L & D manuals to understand what the experienced nurses are trying to teach you.
