I want to work in NICU or L&D🥺I’ve done STABLE, NRP, PALS, ENCCO etc - amazing courses to show my dedication to the field, but I don’t have experience. How do I land these jobs? and if asked at an interview, what do I say about my lack of experience
I’m on the same boat girl. I just received a call for an interview for a NICU position. I’m super nervous about the interview, any feedback if you ever had any interviews?
I would continue to apply, don't give up. You may have to go to several interviews but be yourself at each interview. Go in with enthusiasm for the field and why you want to be either a L&D or NICU RN, explain that yes you do not currently have any experience but you are a blank slate and willing to learn. I came from L&D without any experience as a new grad and went to NICU so you can do it! I know some hospitals will only take a few new grads/new to speciality RN's every so often because of training capabilities. Best of luck!!
Not sure where you reside but Bellevue Hospital Center in NY takes new grad for the NICU and trains them. This is how j started and now a Nicu nurse with 8 years of experience. Try them.
