How can I find out what the role or position is prior to accepting an interview?

Ask for the job description posting in it’s entirety. Even then, it may be better to take the interview and do a job shadow. So many times just hanging on the unit for an hour tells you everything you need or want to know.

Contact the Director of Nursing or HR and ask for full job description. Most of the time they don’t have a problem giving it.
