I am currently looking for a job that will be a good family work balance with holidays and weekend off. Any suggestions?

Don't ever count on every weekend off. And usually in hospitals we have to rotate holidays - you get New Years off this year and will work it next year. Consider a clinic or some form of outpatient nursing such as Visiting Nurse Servoce, although even there clinics are open on weekends, and patetns need to be seen in urgent situations. Physican's offices and large multi-practictioner practices are usually open every other Saturday, although these are generally closed on holidays. I don't know your degree, but if you have at least a BSN, consider teaching in a CNA or LPN program. Many are state-run and involve n weekend teaching or holidays.

I work in a clinic setting. No weekends or holidays. It's 5 days a week (instead of 3/12's), but a better work/ life balance for me.

If you can find a non-bedside position, I think your chances of having holidays and weekends off are very high! I have a friend who is a Research Nurse at a big teaching hospital (we live in a big city), and he has every weekend off, 9 paid holidays, and like 3 weeks of PTO every year. It’s definitely possible!

There are tons of WFH jobs for nurses with experience as well. Don’t be afraid to go down the rabbit hole on Google or social media! There are people who are recruiters who help nurses find remote jobs.

Not nursing. You take holidays and weekends off and it screws the rest of us. Then again, it’s all about you.
