I am interview for respiratory icu and wanted to know what to expect during the interview process. What medication questions should I keep in mind during this process. I am new to the ICU world .

My experience is that there will usually be a medication exam prior to the interview. More important are the questions you need to ask: Is there a precept/mentor who will be with you throughout orientation, how long is orientation, do they promote/fund certification, What is the hospitals/state policy on patient/nurse ratio in the ICU. For your interview, know your 3. 3 strengths to your nursing practice (reliable, cofident, committed) then you should have examples that show that. I.e., Committed - member of a professional organization, certifications, PALS,NALS,ACLS, Arrhythmia courses, Respiratory courses or certifications. I hope this has been helpful. Good Luck and once you are an ICU nurse, enroll in self-care courses, be aware of the term "Compassion Fatigue" and know the symptoms.
