Why is it so hard to get a job in an acute hospital? Everywhere I look I hear that there’s a nursing shortage but I’ve applied for so many jobs and get denied for all of them because the lack of experience!

I would call the nurse recruiter at hospitals you are interested in and ask what the new grad positions are. Hospitals often have a program or units that are designed to work with new grads. While it's best to get your skills down on a med/surg unit, you can consider working in a psychiatric unit to at least get in.

Hi…do you have a BSN? Most hospitals are now hiring those with a 4 year degree so they can try to get or maintain their Magnet status. If this isn’t the issue, you may have to bide your time on night shift on a med/surg floor.
