What are the things I should know before and after being a nursing student?

Senior in nursing school right now. Before: Prepare your mental health. Kiss your friends goodbye. Tell your family you will be hiding. Get ready to be organized and top of dates and scheduling.

After: You realize you can balance your life. Do not get trapped in your notes and study. Go out and have fun. Make connections. Be positive. Make friends. Fail. Mess up. It is okay to mess up. All the nurses I have met either failed a class, got bad grades, or had to retake the program later on. They were all phenomenal teachers and leaders. Most of all, be yourself.
