Does it matter where you went to nursing school?

February 8th, 2022

I don’t think it matters as long as the school is accredited and you pass the NCLEX. I have never interviewed and had someone say “you went to that school”. A nurse who passed nursing school with a 4.0 and another who passed with a 2.5 gpa and both pass the NCLEX both have the same title…Registered Nurse. Same as with how many questions it takes you to pass the NCLEX 75 questions or 125 questions…you are still a nurse with a license! They want you!!!!!

Agreed with the first response posted. As long as you’ve passed the NCLEX and are licensed to practice- you’ll have the opportunity (many, as a matter of fact).

Opinion: No. What matters is whether the program
is accredited. Can the program give you the education you need to pass NCLEX and obtain your license? Is it affordable? Maybe in graduate endeavors, it may matter depending on where you’re trying to go ie research etc but overall No.

Same answer. What matters is passing the NCLEX and being an accredited school so you can go on and get your Bachelors, Masters, etc if you’d like too. I went to a community college and received my associates and passed the NCLEX. Then went to an accredited online program for my bachelors and will soon do the same to get my Masters. Good luck.
