Yea I actually have and I was terrified. Labor and delivery my patient’s Dilaudid syringe went missing after I emptied the foley. Doc at bedside explaining the procedure we had to perform. He pocketed it and went to the patient bathroom and slammed it. He came out bloody paper towel falling out of his lab coat sleeve on to the floor. And high as a kite. I reported it to my charge on the spot. It was a major ordeal.

This may not be directly related to this, but when I was a new nurse, I had a patient who had a cat, that she loved pass away. Her spouse came to me and told me, that he did not know how she would hanlde the news. He ask me to contact her physician and request a medication for her to calm her; she suffered from anixety and panic attacks. I agreed, contac ed the doc. It was in the evening. He responded by initially yelling at me for calling him in the evening for somethig this GD stupid. I said to him very calmly, is that what you want me to relay to the patient and her spouse? He stammered for a moment and then sheepishly gave me an order.
