Will you have one set preceptor or have a different preceptor each day? Will you remain on orientation regardless of unit staffing?
If you need any time off during your orientation that they agree to in your interview, get it in writing. I was badly burned in my first job and learned that the hard way.

The most important things to know:
-Do you have a new grad residency program? What does it look like?
-What is the success rate?
-How many of your new grads stay past 1 - 2 years?

You will need to find a nice way to ask these questions. But at the end of the day, These are the things that will make or break you as a nurse. If you have a bad new grad experience, you will spend your whole career playing catch up.

I would first thank the recruiter (or whomever is interviewing you) for the opportunity to be considered for a position. Highlight your experience and learnings from your education - be specific on a couple of meaningful experiences. You could discuss your interest surrounding special populations and be sincere. Ask about their onboarding and new graduate residency and/or training. I would also ask about the organizations culture, and culture of safety, outcomes and what quality improvements are currently a focus and why? Would also suggest that you do your homework on each organization you intend to interview with and keep notes and stat's so you can have an engaging conversation. I would not ask about compensation, benefits early on although that may be shared by the recruiter. While important it's NOT the most important thing as you want to find a good fit for you starting off your career. Best Wishes to you...
