Are there any nurses out there working in public health, community health, retirement/assisted living? If so, how did you find where you are now? Thanks!

To go in community for the nurses is positive work because they have primary function of public health, health promotion, health protection, disease and injury prevention, health surveillance, population health assessment, and measurement and emergency interventions.
The nurse monitors the medical treatment plan at home and supports the client and their caregivers in managing the administration of medications and medical treatments.

I am the Director of Nursing at a PACE (Program for all Inclusive Care for the Elderly) organization where we serve the elder community in providing services allowing the elderly to age in place. This is a great program that provides wrap around services allowing the elderly to stay in their homes. The nursing services provided are outpatient, urgent care, and home care/home health. This has been a great transition in my career and am so happy to serve this population. I came from critical care and transitioned after 13 years in acute/critical care.

I currently work in an assisted living/residential and I absolutely love it! I have recently gotten back into nursing after being retired for the last 20 years! This has been an excellent place to refresh my skills. I love that I get my one on one time with my residents and their families! I drove by the residential as I was going to my brothers house and seen a post on Facebook on the jobs site and contacted the administrator and she hired me! Best decision I’ve ever made!

I work in skilled nursing or as most say long term care. I started as a new grad in LTC and climbed the roles quickly. I found myself a DON within 8 months. I stayed in management hoping to make a difference with patient care, but when Covid hit I stepped down from management and went to agency as a floor nurse. I have worked LTC, Skilled units, LTAC, and hospitals. I found to really help with improving patient care you need to be on the floor helping the patients. I have never been more happy
