When I graduated from nursing school in 1989, I got a job at University of Chicago Children's Hospital on their pediatric floor and have worked pediatrics for 32 years now. Look for a job at a Children's Hospital. After a year you can be a travel nurse in Pediatrics. I was a travel nurse too and loved it.

Have you called the manager of the facilities you are looking at working with? You can try to find them on LinkedIn as well. I really feel connecting with the manager is the best route or applying for a different job at the facility and taking with a recruiter that way. This is the time where if you are looking for a specific job, you should be able to find one as there is such a huge nursing shortage. Sometimes it’s just finding the creative route to connect with people.

To get enrolled to Peds NP program: you need 800hrs hospitals & outpatient Pediatrics experiences...

If you have already completed a residency I would suggest L&D/ PP med/surg for a year. Get experience and take certification for ped nurse. Later you can go in Advance Practice
