What is the best way to boost my resume as a new grad with no experience other than clinicals? Graduating in August 2022. I have my BLS and completing my ACLS tomorrow. Any other certifications recommended to help me stand out for L&D or mother baby?

In addition to what others have said, be aware that a lot of hospitals may use a computer to read the resumes, so make sure that your formatting is correct without any lines or other things that would interfere with electronic reading. Sometimes the computer is also taught to read for key phrases. These would be words that might be in the hospitals mission statement, or action-oriented words specific to your nursing skills.

So you didn’t do any skills in school? (Jk). Emphasize that, what you learned, how you enjoyed mom/baby women's health. Your study habits, what were your strengths in school. BLS, ACLS, are very important. I would try to get NRP if possible

NRP and a fetal monitoring course by AWOHNN

It’s my understanding from nurses I know who have worked in L&D that it is considered a type of critical care - so often hard to get into as a new grad. Many hospitals I have worked in usually had nurses start in post-partum/mother-baby and/or a step-down unit to gain experience before they could go to L&D but depends on the hospital. Other certifications that are usually required on those type of units is PALS and NRP. Good Luck
