I’m a M/S travel nurse, interested in nursing informatics. I learnt that I do not necessarily have to have my master’s degree for that area. Please how to I go about securing a job without a Master’s?

Depends on what you mean by informatics. Do you want to be an analyst? You will need an EMR certification. Also to start, join your nursing informatics governance council, helps with networking and exposure.

Clinical Informatics has a variety of avenues such as: workflow solutions, QLS coding, analytics, or just basic EHR education. If you want to really be able to understand and grow in project management, system structures behind the builds then you need the master’s degree. If you just want to teach the EHR then become a super user within an organization. If you have a BSN then you could get a certificate in data analytics.
