What are the best shoes for nurses with high arches?

August 7th, 2022

I worked for a year with podiatry and the best shoes we recommended were Hokas, Brooks, and New Balance. I am a 30 year nursing veteran and I have worn several different shoes over the years and Hokas have been my absolute favorite.

I have extremely high arches. I were Cloves now, and since then I have been feeling great. Plus they are designed for healthcare workers so that's a plus.

Vionic sneakers (previously Orthaheel) and the company was started by a Podiatrist. First shoe made with an imbedded arch support for sandals. Most of the sneakers offer the arch support in an insert, which you can also do for any of your current shoes.

Try looking at Brooks. They have some really great shoes for all foot types.

Crocs were the most comfortable. There's a reason Disney sells them. People walking around in Crocs at the parks are less likely to complain about pain on reviews.

The runner-up for me is Asics. I find them very comfortable for a 12 hour shift. Supportive for the high arch.

I've used Birkenstocks for work. Takes getting used to, Very supportive for high arch. I had to retire them after suffering plantar fasciitis.

I realize Hokas have now gained claim to fame., I haven't tried them.
