Advocacy is the biggest myth and misconception about a career in nursing. The calling to help people has nothing to do with your career. Try advocating for a patient or simply the rites to practice within the law and see what happens. See if your union takes a stand. Quickly, you will learn that what's best for a patient or a nurse has absolutely nothing to do with the circumstance (s). However, money does. Good luck nurse's, but do not present an illusion of advocacy. The truth is the truth. Once upon a time we were the most trusted profession. Look at us now. Ask yourself now. We, as a profession, have submitted to a dolcile highly political and monetized role.
