Has anyone taken a break from being an advanced practice provider to pursue any other career options? Currently in lieu of what direction to take after leaving bedside nursing and have not had any good experiences with being a nurse practitioner...
I am looking at medical writer jobs: you can look at Hedis. I consider myself retired (almost). I am pursuing things I wanted to do but never had time because my job sucked the energy out of me. I am looking to go into the travel a business and writing.
I would advise you to join LinkedIn(you can do it free). I never thought that would help but there are not only job opportunities but networking and a good way of finding more job opportunities that you maybe haven't thought of yet.
Being a NP will give you higher paid opportunities. IF you want to check this out: try nursing informatics. I don't know if that is a good use of your advanced practice but check it out.
IF you like forensic nursing, some states allow NP to become medicolegal investigators with the ME office. IT's basically just a 6 week course to "Learn death examination"
