What soecialyty would you recommend for a nurse that wants to leave correctional nursing? I worked in urgent care as a medical assistant for 5 years and here for 3 years. I don’t know where to start since I have no hospital experience.

Still apply to any hospital in your state or of your choice, you can start with medsurg/telemetry, give it a shot even if they add a requirement of 1/2 years hospital experience, give it a shot.

Maybe start off in a rehab facility. Most hospitals don't like zero experience but will say to start off on a rehab setting so you get the clinical aspects of a hospital, but not a true hospital with all specialties.
