When you apply for jobs and you are asked to list specialties are these just areas you’ve worked in? I have just over a year of experience but I’ve worked in several areas, but I don’t consider myself to have any specialities…
I add all the things I’ve experienced including floating to other units and being sent as support for other specialties. All of it helps when employers are deciding on hiring you or not. In travel nursing, I’ve seen that the skills checklist was more valuable than the resume.
Are either of the areas you worked in, interest you enough to want specialize in that service: ICU, ER, Infection control???… on the application state your interest and your experience, less then one year is usually on the application and it’s okay to check that you just started.
Yes, where you have worked. If it’s been several places in one year, I personally would pick my strongest/longest stint and put that one.
Yur past experience is very valuable to yourself as a Registered Nurse, but is not considered
an specialty until you do get a certification as a certify one...
