I have been out of bedside nursing for nearly 2 years. Previously med/surg experience. I want to return to bedside and work in ER. Has anyone had any luck with similar situation?

Try rural. I was out of nsg for 8 yrs and went back at a small county hospital where I was the only nurse in a 5bed ER. In a few years I moved from TX back to CA and now work in a 25bed ED

First get your ACLS, sharp your skills on Venipunture, learn and get certified on cardia arritmias. With all that in your pocket you are ready for ER. Good luck.
