Go to any in-houe conferences that your institution may offer. Many include CEU's. Read nursing journals in your area of interest/specialty. Some journals are more academically oriented, and some are very clinical. You don't have to read the entire thing! Ask if your institution will sponsor you to go away to a nursing conference or pay part of your tuition if you bring back information to share in a nursing grand rounds. Or go with friends on your own - mini-vacation and you'll have fun and learn a lot! If you are a member of Sigma or any nursng organization, ask if they sponsor local conferences/seminars and attend those. Subscribe to an online service suchas Beckers and read the articles that affect your particular area of practice. Ask if you can audit graduate courses on nursing ethics at your local university. Join a specialty orgnaization (usually get their journal with membership) and/or join your local State Nurses Association and go to meetings as ften as possible. Hope this helps.
